Membership Association Agreement
(A Private Contract Membership Association)
I, ____________________________ hereby accept the terms of membership in The Living Sacrament (hereinafter “Church”), a private membership association available only by invitation and with application approval. With the signing of this membership agreement, I accept the offer made to become a member of the Church. I agree with the following Declaration of Purpose and accept the terms expressed therein and in the Memorandum of Understanding.
This Church of members, forming a sacred body, declares that our mission is to exist as a society living in peace under Divine Law and protected by the laws of the District of Columbia and the United States. Our purpose is to provide mutual benefits to all members and to safeguard their rights to religious freedom and spiritual self-determination.
As members, we affirm our spiritual jurisdiction under Divine Law and acknowledge the legal protections provided by the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution, as well as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). We affirm that these protections extend to our religious expression, gatherings, sacraments, and clergy-led ceremonies.
We recognize the right of our members to seek spiritual counsel from within our Church community, including from ministers, facilitators, and teachers. These individuals provide guidance for religious ceremonies, rites of passage, and holistic wellness practices that align with the Church’s teachings.
The Church maintains its right to practice sacred rituals and observances rooted in ancient and contemporary spiritual traditions. These practices are centered around personal growth, divine communion, inner healing, and transformation through intentional spiritual experience.
The mission of the Church is to create a safe, sacred, and confidential environment for members to deepen their relationship with the Divine and to participate in religious practices that are meaningful to their spiritual journeys. Each member is responsible for discerning the practices that best support their path.
The Church welcomes all individuals, regardless of background, who align with our values and respect our principles. Members join in sacred trust and in pursuit of freedom, healing, and connection to the Divine Source.
I understand that all guidance offered by clergy or members of The Living Sacrament is provided as part of our spiritual fellowship and does not constitute medical, psychological, or legal advice under conventional public law. No doctor-patient or licensed provider relationship exists within this Church.
This agreement is a private religious contract, protected under federal and District of Columbia law. I freely join this association in good faith and acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my decisions and experiences within the spiritual framework of the Church.
I agree to hold harmless the Church, its clergy, facilitators, and members from any claims arising from my personal spiritual practice. I acknowledge that religious healing is not the same as medical treatment and that I may seek additional professional support outside the Church as needed.
I understand that the Church operates privately and is not subject to public oversight by regulatory agencies. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with private mediation. I waive any rights to file complaints in public legal forums regarding matters that arise within Church fellowship.
I affirm and accept the following:
I am at least 21 years old and of sound mind.
I am not an agent of any regulatory or investigative body.
I join The Living Sacrament of my own free will.
I will not disclose private Church practices to any non-member.
Membership shall continue until I choose to resign or until my passing.
